I’m kinda hit-or-miss at getting proper reviews posted for the typically 100+ movies I see theatrically each year. Sometimes, I’ll post a quick paragraph about a movie I saw over on the social networks and not get around to writing a full review. You can always dig through those posts to see if I did so for a particular film.
Disconnect
A remarkable, well made character drama with solid writing, a nice cast and is surprisingly realistic and believable.
Iron Man 3
An excellent entry to the Iron Man series and to the Marvel franchise. Certainly the funniest of the series, and perhaps the most genuinely fun. Hopefully a return to the A-List for writer/director Shane Black.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
A perfect film? No. But the fantastic cast certainly makes it highly entertaining, and its heart is very much in the right place.
Dark Skies
An effective and enjoyable alien invasion film of the subtle kind. A nice surprise.
A Good Day To Die Hard
I was equal parts frustrated and bored while watching this movie. If the script to this movie ever had even the slightest bit of intelligence and logic or even basic common sense, it was destroyed in the making. This is a franchise killer.
Warm Bodies
I enjoyed everything about this movie, from its delightful dialog (primarily in voice over) to its witty charm. It’s a wonderful “rom-zom-com.”
The Impossible
An excellent character drama set against the immense, horrific 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
Les Miserables
This may be an opinion I end up unpopular for, but I was bored out of my frakkin’ mind by this movie.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Like the Lord Of The Rings films, I consider this movie entertaining enough, but not great. It’s just not my favorite genre.
Life Of Pi
A masterpiece. Plain and simple.
