A series of compilation videos I've assembled from The Soup with Joel McHale.
This is an edit of various material from the original Star Wars trilogy set to John Williams’ end credit suite from The Empire Strikes Back.
Back in the summer of 1994, I hosted a viewing party of the Star Wars trilogy, thanks to the at-the-time awesome Star Wars Trilogy: The Definitive Collection LaserDisc set that came out in late 1993. As a last-minute idea, I decided to throw together a quick music video edit to play before the movies. I threw it together that Friday evening and Saturday morning before the screening began that afternoon. Given how quickly I threw it together, particularly due to the difficulty of doing these edits on VHS, I think it turned out fairly well. The happiest accident in this video is the way the X-Wing fighters wings open to the music, which was a surprise when I first edited that scene into the video.
