Ponderings For 2007-10-13
- Today was my 32nd birthday. Didn’t do a whole lot other than lounging about and taking it easy. Saw Michael Clayton, which was excellent (review for that and a couple other movies coming within the next day or so). Also, connectivity to this blog and some other sites related to me and people I know have been experiencing some issues (due to a couple unrelated problems). I’m working at moving everything to a new solution, so hang tight while that’s all squared away…
- The most insane and impressive stuff I’ve seen in a while. Check out these talented basejumping windsuit lunatics
- Another of Douglas Adams’ books gets radio serialization - his Dirk Gently series. Very cool.
- And here’s the awesome news of Simon Pegg being cast as Scotty in JJ Abrams new Star Trek film. He’s not the first person I would have thought of for the role, but he’s great in anything, so I’m happy to hear it. Also, John Cho is well cast as Sulu.
- Oooh, Dan Waters doing a sci-fi dramedy? I’m there.
- The hits just keep on coming. Madonna has jumped ship from the recording industry. Her move is a bit different than other recent ones, but any move against the recording industry is a good move. Particularly by a performer as notable as Madonna.
- How about the world’s worst attempt at a prison escape?
- Here’s the cover art & menu screen for the Galactica 1980 DVD release
- Check out this timeline analysis of wars and casualties in US history, attributed to partisan administrations and leaders. It’s a really well put together presentation.
