Ponderings For 2007-02-09
- WOO HOO! Thank you Fox! MASH gets a seperate DVD release of the bonus materials from the Martinis & Medicine complete series set. Bout time one of these studios made the bonus materials from a big complete series DVD set available individually. I’m sick and tired of those of us who support season by season releases of our favorite shows getting the shaft when they put out the big complete series set, including materials aimed right at hard core fans of the show - WHO ALREADY OWN THE SEASON RELEASES. So, thank you Fox, for realizing this (and I’m sure the fact that the set is out of print now added to the decision).
- And the grandfather of the year award goes to… (a very impressive story)
- WKRP In Cincinnati: Season 1 gets press release, cover art and details
- The joys of the studios doing carpet bombed takedown notices to YouTube
- Coolness! Kitchen Confidential is coming to DVD. Give this underappreciated series a chance when it’s released (and check out Darren Star’s criminally overlooked comedy Grosse Pointe, currently an Amazon exclusive DVD set)
- Toy Story 3 confirmed, but sadly not to be directed by Lasseter. Still, Lee Unkrich is a talent director, and I hope it can live up to the franchise name.
- Scott Adams continues his “fun with intelligence“
- Kinda sad that Microsoft doesn’t wanna drop the name of Hotmail. Hotmail sucked, but I guess it did have plenty of brand recognition.
- Finally, I double-dog pinky swear that my 2006 Retrospective will go online tomorrow. Well, the movie half of it will, anyway. It’s anybody’s guess as to when I’ll finish the TV half…
Dialog Of The Day: “My work’s illegal, but at least it’s honest.” (Malcolm Reynolds, played by Nathan Fillion in Firefly 1.04)
Video Of The Day: So, you think there are some big crashes in modern day NASCAR races? Try this one…
